DIY Natural Moisturizer

I've had a lot of emails requesting a more affordable moisturizer so here it is! My friend @halfhealthymom on Instagram shared this whipped body butter recipe with me. If you're a fan of coconut oil and it works well on your skin this will be amazing for you! My skin is pretty darn sensitive + extra dry these days with the weather and pregnancy so I have gone back to Kypris recently. I do however LOVE the simplicity + versatility of this moisturizer.

The possibilities with this are endless, it is a great base for so many things! Dry skin, eczema, diaper rash and an anti-aging facial moisturizer to name a few I've used it for! All you need is a few ingredients + essential oils. Doterra is my brand of choice because of the purity of their oils.

DIY Moisturizer Whip

* Add coconut oil and shea butter to the glass bowl and stir until completely melted. Once melted pull off heat and allow to cool down to room temperature. With electric mixer whip the mixture until light and fluffy! You can do as much or as little as you'd like, I think it smooths onto skin if you whip it quite well!

Then the fun part begins! Add in your favorite essential oils or you can simply use it as is! I love Frankincense or Helichrysum for anti-aging at nights, 1-2 drops to a dollop of whip is perfect! Any citrus oil is yummy for an all over body moisturizer, my favorites are Lime, Citrus Bliss or Lemon. Also Lemon has great brightening properties which is great if you recently exfoliated! Even if my little guy is sick I will add a drop of Doterra's Breathe blend, Eucalyptus or Peppermint to it to dilute it for his skin then rub it on his chest.

Be sure to let me know if you make this recipe and how you like it! Also what you you mix that is a must try!
